And the mild weather continues – remember last year when it was snowing in November, it makes me shiver to think about it! Whilst it has been unseasonally warm and dry – with a drought in some places – it has been good gardening weather.
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER Checklist • Rake leaves off the lawn regularly and put in your leaf bin for next year’s mulch • Plant bare root fruit bushes • Plant bare root native hedging • Fork over soil in borders, adding compost to improve structure • Mulch borders • Fix and stain fences, while plants are dormant • Tidy up pots with winter pansies, primroses and spring bulbs • Put a net over your pond to stop leaves from falling in
